By purchasing ShareTracker or using our website, you agree to these terms. These terms govern the purchase of our software and the use of the ShareTracker.io platform.

1. Software License

ShareTracker is sold as a downloadable application. Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the software.

  • “The Hacker” Plan: Grants access to the unencrypted Python source code. You may modify this code for your own personal use. You strictly may not resell, redistribute, open-source, or sub-license the source code to third parties.
  • “The Investor” Plan: Grants access to the compiled desktop application (executable). You may install this on your personal devices.
  • License Termination: If a refund is issued, this license is immediately revoked, and you must uninstall and destroy all copies of the software and source code.

2. Pay Once, Own Forever

ShareTracker is not a subscription service. Your purchase grants you a perpetual license to use the software. Per our plan details, “The Investor” plan includes Lifetime Updates, granting you access to future versions of the executable as they are released.

3. Self-Hosted Responsibility

ShareTracker is a self-hosted application. You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for:

  • The security, backup, and integrity of your own data.
  • The configuration of your local environment (Python, Pip, Docker, or OS settings).
  • Ensuring your hardware meets the necessary system requirements to run the software and its dependencies.

4. Refunds & Return Policy

Due to the nature of our products (downloadable software and source code), our refund policy varies by plan:

  • “The Hacker” Plan (Source Code): This plan is strictly non-refundable. Once the source code has been accessed or downloaded, the product is considered consumed.
  • “The Investor” Plan (App): We offer a 30-Day Conditional Refund only in the event of a critical technical defect that our support team cannot resolve. This is not a “change of mind” guarantee.

5. Disclaimer of Warranty & Financial Risk

The software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. ShareTracker is a tool for data visualization and portfolio tracking; it does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.

ShareTracker.io is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Yahoo Finance or any other data provider. We are not liable for any financial losses, investment errors, or data inaccuracies incurred while using the software. All investment decisions are made at your own risk.

6. Third-Party Data Sources & Compliance

ShareTracker utilizes third-party libraries (including yfinance) to retrieve market data. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • No Data Guarantee: We do not provide the data itself. We provide the tool to fetch it. Availability of data is subject to the terms and technical stability of third-party providers (e.g., Yahoo Finance).
  • Service Continuity: If a third-party provider changes their website structure, API, or terms of access, the software may cease to function. Such events are outside our control and do not qualify for a refund.
  • User Compliance: You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the software complies with the Terms of Service of the data providers. ShareTracker is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Singapore.
